Bookmaker comparison India: 17 operators tested with real INR and a 7-point methodology
How we ranked Stake, Yolo247, 4rabet, 1Win, Melbet, Pin-Up, 22Bet, Parimatch, Dafabet, 1xBet, 10Cric, Crickex, Mostbet, Betway, LeoVegas, Pure Win and Olymp Casino. Real deposits, real withdrawals, no paid placements. Weighting is built for the Indian market and owes nothing to a global template: a rupee payout that clears in twenty minutes and a fully priced IPL card count for more than a wide European football list, and every figure traces back to a transaction the team actually ran.

Operator capability matrix — 17 brands × 7 features
Seven features that change how an account behaves day to day in India, marked from hands-on testing, with nothing copied off an operator feature list. A tick means the feature was present and working on an Indian account during the last test cycle; a dash covers both outright absence and a version too thin to count — an Andar Bahar table with no live dealer, or a crash shelf holding one title and nothing more.

How to compare bookmakers in India
Do not choose a bookmaker by bonus size alone. For India, the stronger comparison starts with payment reliability: UPI or wallet deposit, withdrawal route, KYC requirement, minimum cashout, and how quickly support reacts when a transaction is pending. A smaller bonus with predictable withdrawals is usually better than a large offer with unclear rules.
Cricket coverage is the second filter. Good Indian betting sites should cover IPL, T20 internationals, ODIs, player props and live markets without forcing you into confusing bet slips. If you also play casino or Aviator, check whether the same balance, KYC profile and payment method work across sportsbook and casino.
Strengths are spread unevenly across the pool, and the gaps say more than the headline scores do. Stake clears crypto and UPI withdrawals faster than anything else tested here; 1xBet carries the deepest market list and the heaviest daily live schedule; Melbet reaches furthest into kabaddi, eSports and the niche sports nobody else prices; 1Win builds its floor around Aviator and the rest of the crash shelf; 4rabet and Yolo247 aim squarely at players who read the wagering terms before pressing claim. Not one of them leads on all seven criteria, which is the practical argument for opening accounts at two or three brands instead of staying loyal to one.

How we test (real INR deposits)
Every score line begins with real money moving through the operator’s own cashier, never a demo balance and never a press kit. Once a quarter the team opens fresh accounts from Indian IP addresses and works through a fixed sequence:
- Deposit ₹5,000 over UPI; capture cashier latency, screenshot bonus credit
- Place 12–15 cricket bets across IPL/BBL/PSL; 4–6 casino sessions on Aviator and Andar Bahar
- Trigger first-withdrawal KYC; upload PAN + Aadhaar; log hours-to-approval
- Withdraw to UPI in two waves: a small ₹3,500 cycle, then ₹1 lakh + crypto
- Open one chat ticket, one email ticket, one Telegram enquiry to capture support distributions
No number published here is lifted from an operator’s marketing material. Payout times are medians across six cycles, not the best case from a good day, market counts are taken from a live IPL fixture during the toss window when the card is at its fullest, and support timings come from tickets opened at three different hours including one after midnight. When a brand missed its stated withdrawal window or bounced a KYC upload, that cycle stays in the sample and drags the median where it belongs. The coin leg of that cycle is written up separately in our USDT, BTC and ETH payout tests.

Which operator suits which player: cricket, casino and long-tail sport
An overall score compresses seven weighted criteria into one number, which ranks the pool neatly but buries the trade-offs underneath it. The operator paying out in twelve minutes ships without a Hindi interface of any kind; the brand with the largest cumulative match offer sits mid-table on cricket depth; the two names with the most conservative licences are also the two with the thinnest market lists. Sorted by what the account is actually used for, the pool separates cleanly:
- Cricket-first IPL bettor: Stake, whose 3.5% margin on a match winner is the thinnest priced in the pool; Yolo247, which pairs a 110-market card with Hindi-speaking dealers on the evening tables; Crickex, which prices nothing but cricket and puts its liquidity into session and fancy lines
- Casino + slots focus: Pin-Up (250 FS welcome, 9-tier loyalty), LeoVegas (BetMGM group), Stake (provably-fair originals)
- Aviator and crash-game players: 1Win (bonus-eligible Aviator), Mostbet (Telegram bot drops), 4rabet (Aviator on home page)
- Long-tail sport (kabaddi, eSports, niche): Melbet (40+ sports including kabaddi), 1xBet (1,000+ live events daily, 60+ sports)
- European football and bet builder: 22Bet (bet builder, AstroPay/Skrill/Neteller), Dafabet (Asian Handicap, EPL heritage)
- Brand-conservative bettor: Betway (MGA + EPL sponsorship), LeoVegas (BetMGM ownership), Parimatch (30-year history)
- Bonus hunter: 4rabet (+700% cumulative), 1Win (+500% ₹75k), Olymp Casino (rotating no-deposit codes)
Exchange betting compared with a traditional bookmaker
An exchange lets you bet against another player rather than the bookmaker; back/lay markets give you the option of being the punter or the bookie on each fixture. In our pool, three brands run a working exchange product: Dafabet Exchange (cricket and football, integrated with the main wallet), Crickex Exchange (cricket-only with thinner liquidity) and 22Bet (limited exchange-style markets on selected sports).
The exchange crowd in India behaves differently from bookmaker punters, and the mechanics explain why. Prices are set by other players, with no trading desk in between, and the spread tightens on a heavily traded fixture while widening to the point of being unusable on anything obscure: an IPL match winner will match a ₹10,000 stake in seconds, while a Ranji Trophy session line can sit unmatched all afternoon. Commission takes the place of margin — the exchange charges a percentage of net winnings on the market, where a mainstream bookmaker builds 3.5–5% into the quoted price itself. Over a full season that difference compounds, which explains why a high-volume cricket bettor keeps more on the exchange route even after the commission is paid, and why a casual bettor placing four bets a month notices no difference whatever.
Matched, arbitrage and value betting in India
Three approaches come up again and again among Indian bettors who treat the IPL window as a bankroll exercise and not as a form of entertainment. Each needs at least two funded accounts, each has a different ceiling, and each stops working for a different reason:
- Matched betting uses the welcome bonus as the source of edge. You back a selection on the bookmaker and lay it on an exchange; the bookmaker bonus pays for the exchange commission. Realistic in India when you stack 4–5 welcome bonuses across our top brands.
- Arbitrage betting exploits price differences between two operators on the same fixture. Margins are thin (0.5–1.5% per fixture) and operators flag arbers quickly, especially Stake and Pin-Up. Realistic only at small stakes and across many bets.
- Value betting ignores match outcomes and focuses on whether the bookmaker odds underprice the true probability. The hardest of the three, the highest variance, the only one that scales beyond the welcome-bonus window.
The choice comes down to bankroll size and to how much screen time is available. Matched betting is the lowest-risk entry point because the edge is written into the contract and owes nothing to prediction — the welcome offer supplies it, so no view on the cricket is needed at all. Arbitrage demands capital sitting idle at several operators at once and ends the moment stake limits arrive, usually within a fortnight of the first flagged bet. Value betting is the only one of the three that outlives the welcome-bonus window, and also the only one where a losing month proves nothing either way about whether the method works.
How rankings change month-to-month
We re-test the top half of our pool monthly during IPL season and quarterly off-season. The score line for each operator can shift up to 0.4 points between quarters. Common reasons:
- UPI rails change — banks tighten or loosen their gambling-merchant code blocking
- The operator launches or cuts a Hindi live-dealer table (Yolo247 added two more in the last cycle)
- App stability changes after a major update (1Win’s Android target SDK upgrade dropped Android 6 support)
- KYC SLAs slip during high-traffic months (Crickex went from 4 hours to 8 hours during IPL final week)
For a season-long IPL bankroll the position an operator holds on the day the account opens counts for more than its long-run average: a welcome offer is claimed once, while the payout rail behind it gets used every week for the next four months. Each brand review carries the date of its most recent re-test in the header, which lets any score be read against the cycle that produced it. Figures measured in the current review cycle reflect live rails and live SLAs; an older stamp means the conditions behind that number have not been re-checked since, and on UPI availability a gap of two quarters is enough to change the answer. If a rail or an SLA moves on your own account before the next cycle lands, write to the editorial desk and we re-check that brand ahead of schedule.
Betting tax in India: TDS at 30% on net winnings
Whatever you win on offshore bookmakers is taxable in India. The Income Tax Act treats betting wins as casual income and applies a flat 30% TDS. As of 2023, the threshold dropped to zero — even ₹100 of winnings is technically taxable, although in practice the tax authorities focus on the larger withdrawals into bank accounts.
None of the offshore operators in the pool withholds TDS at source; the whole compliance burden therefore sits with the player. Keep a running total of deposits and withdrawals through the financial year and declare net winnings on the annual return as income from other sources; the bank statements showing those credits are the evidence an assessing officer asks for first. Two things are routinely mixed up at this point. The 1% deduction that applies to domestic real-money gaming platforms is a different mechanism from the flat 30% charged on casual income, and neither of them has any bearing on whether the bet was lawful in the first place. Tax liability and licensing sit in separate parts of the statute book: paying the 30% legalises nothing, and an offshore licence exempts nobody from paying it.
